OH, and the worst part: I've had to listen to these two a-holes for the last two seasons gush about how the Marlins relished knocking the Mets out of the playoffs. I've never wanted to punch my TV more.

They sound like two guys who just met on a bus trying to make small talk about a topic neither one knows much about.

Why pack it in? Teams could still use their bat at a discount. Sheffield is still a feared hitter when healthy. Jenkins is a bit irrelevant at this point though.

You've got to have perspective on these things. I was just pointing out that how much or how little you could get for that money. If you'd rather look at it as 1/4 of ARod, 1/3 of Jeter or CC, equal to Burnett, or 1/2 of Posada, that's up to you. You could also look at it as 1/5 of the entire Marlins team. Would you rather I un-Yankee it? It's also 1/4 of Johan Santana. Better?

I just think that there are better guys to be plugging, but I guess none are major league ready just yet. So if you are the Met writer for this site, he may be your only option for an entry like this.

Yankee fans think everything they touch is gold. I am a very pessimistic Met fan I have a good feeling about this kids talent. And yes the MVP think was meant to be sarcastic, c'mon you really think i'm going to name a guy with 131 at bats to be a front runner for MVP before the season starts?

yea I think this guy has the tools to be a great ballplayer. Still has a lot to prove but I like him. I think the MVP comment was meant to be a bit sarcastic. Nice read.

If Murphy is 'proven' to be able to hit major league hitting than Volstad should get a better grade than C+

If Livan and Glavine are both awful and deserve awful grades.

I am assuming that you are a Met fan so I understand your bias, but I think you are being VERY generous on your grades for Maine and Perez. But at the same time, after the year that Pelfrey had last year you might be shooting low on him, so I guess it all evens out.

Moyer an A-?????????????????????????????

Good analysis though! I'm excited about this series.

130ABs is not 'proving' that you can swing at the major league level. Murphy is way overrated by Met fans. This guy will be a 'nice player' at best. There are much better young players that you should be talking about rather than praising this guy.

Your MVP prediction is laughable. You sound like a Yankee fan last year who was ready to hand Phil Hughes the Cy Young Award and a Hall of Fame induction.
